Callback services:
Callback occurs when the originator of a call is immediately called back in a second call as a response. A callback in this sense is a method of making low-cost calls via a third party. Abroad call from some country can be much more expensive then calling to this country from abroad.
VoipSwitch allows different methods of initiating Callback calls:
- ANI, DID, PIN Callback
- SMS Callback
- Web-based Callback – VSPortal
- One stage Callback
- Callback based on VoIPbox scenarios
Callback requirements:
VoipSwitch main platform + Callback module
Depending from type of callback special equipment must be available or configuration done.
1. ANI, DID, PIN callback – First thing to be done to use this callback is arranging DID number which will be used to activate callback. It can be one number with several channels or more numbers can be used for example from different countries. Client calling this number are never connected and such call must be converted from telephone network to VoIP protocol SIP or H323. DID numbers can be bought from DID carriers like voxbone.net or didx.net. Every such number has monthly cost and can be redirected to any IP number. For DID callback every client has his own DID number so more number must be taken. Other option is to install own gateway with PSTN interface (E1,T1) and VoIP ports. This gateway must be connected to local telecommunication company and local number should be assigned by them.
2. SMS callback – This kind of callback requires mobile phone connected to one or more computer. These computers must have connection to internet with availability to open web pages. VoipSwitch provides special application which is reading messages coming to phone connected to computer and passed them to special web page which is parsing them and sending to VoipSwitch. Reading application is not limited and can be used on many computers in different countries with different mobile phones connected. Clients using SMS callback are sending special messages to initiate callback. Many shortcuts are available to make it simple as possible.
Other option to receive SMS from clients is to find GSM carrier who has option to pass SMS to predefined web page. SMS body and sender phone number can be passed as parameters of any name. This page will parse them and send to VoipSwitch if valid. Not every GSM carrier has this option but it is available in some.
3. Standalone Web callback – to use this callback client must be in front of PC with internet connection. Internet quality can be very weak but it is necessary to send only small portion of text. Client can use standalone application or VSPortal version working web page. After logging as callback client he can put two numbers and they will be connected together.
Optional elements:
Online Shop module - Funding user’s accounts from the Web interface, the system works with more than 20 online payment systems, support for credit cards, PayPal, Moneybookers
Resellers module – Selling services through distribution channels (agents, resellers)
You can expand your business and add at any time the other additional modules like: Calling cards, Callshop, IP PBX and mobile softphones.
Calling cards services:
Another popular VoIP service is making calls from regular phones or mobiles through so called access numbers. Then user is asked for PIN or authenticated by Caller ID (ANI) and then asked to enter the destination number he/she wants to connect to. In the past an ITSP had to expect significant investments in equipment in order to establish an access number with sufficient number of channels. Usually it was realized by PSTN gateways connected to local telecom company through E1s or T1s. If an ITSP wanted to have an access number in different locations it had to replicate the whole setup in every place.
Now, thanks to the DID numbers (didx.net, voixbone.net) the whole calling cards business has become much easier, faster and what the most important - affordable even for startups. Enough is to purchase desired numbers in particular locations, for example in US, in UK and so on. Then select the number of channels for each number which depends on our projections on the number of concurrent calls in the initial stage. We can start with even as few as 5 lines per number just to start and then gradually add more as more users are subscribing to the service. No need to invest hundreds thousands in hardware and connections to local telecoms anymore. The DID provider takes care of this part for you.
The next step is just to add those numbers on VoipSwitch and assign them to selected IVR scenarios. Each access number can point to a scenario in different language, for example number from Madrid can be operated by the IVR in Spanish. The VoipSwitch is fully ready to work with DID numbers, from the inception the IVR was designed to work with this new approach of realizing the access numbers for calling cards.
Calling cards requirements:
VoipSwitch main platform + IP IVR calling cards
DID provider (we recommend didx.net and voixbone.net)
Optional elements:
Online Shop module – Funding user’s accounts from the Web interface, the system works with more than 20 online payment systems, support for credit cards, PayPal, Moneybookers.
Resellers module – Selling services through distribution channels (agents, resellers).

Callshop services:
Callshop module consists of three parts:
- Server, which is built in VoipSwitch’s platform
- Web based application for Callshops
- Cabins working in Callshop, as a cabin it can use IP phone (SIP or H323), SOHO gateways or PC2Phone clients.
Callshop software gives real time information on:
- Connection status
- The telephone number
- Time of the connection
- Cost
For Callshop operator it is available to see profit made on every call or summary for given period and It is important to note that Callshop uses 2 tariffs one for the Callshop and one for the cabin (Using web page Callshop client can modify rates in tariff assigned to cabin).
Resellers can create & manage Callshop clients using their web pages VSR.
Callshop requirements:
Voipswitch main platform + Callshop module
