New version of the Vippie for Android softphone has been released. Comparing to the earlier release presented at Gitex some new features have been added such as calls history, contacts and sending/receiving SMS (over SIP). The license for VoIP providers for one server with unlimited number of users is offered at the price of $2500. Vippie Mobile for Android is a SIP softphone that works on all mobile handsets based on Google Android operating system for example some of the HTC models or G1. The softphone supports following codecs: g729, g711, GSM and g722. The softphone supports VoIP tunnel technology and can work from blocked areas or from behind firewalls for both incoming and outgoing calls. The softphone can connect to Internet using Wifi, GPRS, EDGE or UMTS Vippie! mobile can work with voipswitch and also with 3rd party sip servers.
